We know leaving your dog with someone is a big decision. Here are answers to the most common questions our amazing clients ask.
General Questions
What Areas do you Cover?
We cover rural villages within the Warwickshire and Leicestershire areas including;
Ansty, Shilton, Barnacle, Bulkington, Bedworth, Nuneaton, Wolvey, Brinklow, Monks Kirby.
If you're outside of these areas, please still get in touch as we may be able to help!
Do I need to be home for walks or visits?
No, you don't need to be at home when we come to do a walk or a home visit. We request that a keybox is installed at your property, so we can gain access.
What are your Opening Hours?
Monday - Thursday: 8:30am until 6:30pm.
Friday: 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Weekends & Bank Holidays: CLOSED.
How much do your services cost?
Pet Care Visits start from £15.00.
Solo Dog Walks start from £22.00.
Group Play Sessions start from £20.00.
Puppy Visits start from £22.00.
Wedding Chaperone - Price on Enquiry.
Dog/Puppy Training starts from £30.00.
Do you walk dogs in groups?
The only groups we run are our Group Play Sessions and this is a maximum of 6 dogs in a group. Although most groups are usually around 4 dogs.
Can I book a one-off service?
Our services can be booked as a one-off, although plenty of notice (around 4 weeks) is needed, due to having multiple regular bookings, so availability is limited.
Our Services
What happens during a Dog Walk?
Solo Dog Walks: We collect your dog(s) from your home, and take them for their walk from your front door for the allotted 1 Hour.
Group Play Sessions: We collect your dog(s) from home, put them into our van and transport them to the secure dog field we hire, for the allotted 2 Hours.
How long are your walks?
Solo Dog Walks are 1 Hour in duration; this includes picking up and dropping off.
Group Play Sessions are approx 2 Hours in duration; this also included picking up and dropping off
What is included in a Puppy Visit?
Puppy Visits can be tailored to your individual puppy's needs. Most puppies need time to relieve themselves, have food (if on 3 meals a day), playtime and basic obedience training. And those all important puppy cuddles too!
Do you offer Pet Sitting in my Home?
No, we don't offer overnight pet sitting in your home. We can help with daytime care, so please contact us for more information.
What is your daycare like?
We don't currently offer a daycare service, however we may look into this in the future.
Can you take care of Senior Dogs?
We love caring for the senior dogs on our crew. As they start to slow down, we alter the services to suit.
Your Dog
Do you accept puppies?
Yes, we accept puppies. We love being able to bond with young puppies, and help guide them (and you) as they grow.
Do you take dogs that are reactive?
Depending on your dog's level of reactivity we may take them on. We don't accept all reactive dogs, as sometimes we are not the right fit for your dog. However we work closely with other Pet Professionals and will recommend alternative options to you, if we are not the right fit. Ultimately your dog's safety and welfare is the priority.
What if my dog doesn't get on with others?
At the Meet and Greet we will ask you about your dog, their likes and dislikes and get to know them. We will then start with some Solo Dog Walks, and manage interactions with other dogs very carefully.
Do you walk dogs off-lead?
Yes, we do let dogs off-lead, but only once we have built a bond and a reliable recall with them. We use longlines to give your dog freedom to explore on their walks, whilst still having them attached to us for safety.
What should I provide for my dog?
You should provide the following items for your dog:
- An Identification Tag with your name, contact number and address on. This is a Legal Requirement by Law.
- A Collar.
- A Lead.
- A Harness; if your dog wears one.
Will my dog be tired after a walk?
We get lots of clients sending us photos of their dogs, snoozing after their walks with us. So if that's anything to go by, then yes your dog will be tired after their walk.
Safety and Security
Are you insured?
Yes! We are fully insured with PetPlan Insurance and are happy to provide a copy of our certificate upon request.
Are your DBS Checked?
Yes! All members of the Emily's Canine Crew staff hold a valid DBS Check.
Do you have Pet First Aif training?
Yes! We attend Dog First Aid courses on a regular basis, to keep our skills and knowledge up to date.
We hope to never need the skills, but it's better to have them and not need them!
How do you keep dogs safe on walks?
We manage interactions with other dogs and humans carefully. Whilst we are building a bond with your dog, we try and keep to ourselves. Once a bond is starting to build, we then start to interact with others, if it's safe to do so. We are always assessing the environments we are in for any potential risks.
What happens in an emergency?
We have procedures in place which we follow. If you would like to know more, please feel free to contact us.
Are dogs supervised at all times?
Yes. Whilst in our care, dogs are always supervised by a member of the Emily's Canine Crew team.
